Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area
I am reaching out to Cisco community to support a cause: Make A Wish. My 12-year-old second son, Anooj is a typical middle schooler, who likes to be silly most of the time. He likes playing Roblox and watching Star Wars movies. He was diagnosed a few years back, to have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It is a seriously progressive, and fatal genetic disease, which causes progressive muscle loss and function, including respiratory and heart function. This occurs only among 1 in 3500, affecting mostly boys. To date, there is no cure or treatment to stop the progression of Duchenne.
Earlier this year Make-A-Wish Foundation granted Anooj's wish to meet Satya Nadella the CEO of Microsoft. Make-A-Wish worked closely with Microsoft to create a memorable experience for Anooj on his wish day. He got to meet Satya Nadella, and spend some time with him visiting the Mixed Reality Studio. Later in the day, he got to visit Minecraft, Xbox gaming, virtual reality divisions. Anooj was thrilled that his visit was covered in Seattle's local TV station KOMO News: Make-A-Wish helps San Francisco Boy to meet Microsoft CEO (https://komonews.com/news/videos/watch-make-a-wish-helps-san-francisco-boy-meets-mircosoft-ceo)
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The wish experience has great impact on these children. I could see this first-hand in my son, who is now more confident and happy that he is more popular at his middle-school.
I hope you can donate to the Make-A-Wish foundation. So, that they can help kids like Anooj, and make their wishes come true.
You can choose your donation to be Anonymous. Also, there is NO requirement for you to participate, it is at your discretion.
All funds raised will benefit Make-A-Wish, and go directly toward granting wishes to children. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible.
Thank you for your support!
