Each year, over 40,000 women will die of breast cancer in the United States. Although prevention, research, and treatment have made tremendous strides over the past two decades, breast cancer remains a major threat to women worldwide. It is the most common cancer in women, regardless of race or ethnicity. While white women are slightly more likely to develop breast cancer than are African American women, African American women are more likely to die of the disease. Asian, Latina, and Native American women have a lower risk than of developing breast cancer, but stigma within Hispanic and Latino groups prevents them from seeking care and enrolling in clinical research. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, join Braze in providing support to organizations doing critical work in the fight against breast cancer.

SHARE Self-Help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer

SHARE is a national nonprofit that supports, educates, and empowers women affected by breast, ovarian, uterine or metastatic breast cancer, with a special focus on medically underserved communities. Our mission is to connect these women with the unique support of survivors and peers, creating a community where no one has to face breast, ovarian, uterine or metastatic breast cancer alone. All of our programs are grounded in the needs and insight of real patients and survivors and are developed in multiple languages to support women of all ages, cultures, and ethnicities to make informed, authentic decisions about their health.

Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research challenges the status quo to end breast cancer and improve the lives of people impacted by it now through education and advocacy. The Foundation drives collaborative, cutting-edge research with nontraditional partners, brings to light the collateral damage of treatment and seeks ways to diminish it, and interprets science to empower patients.
